To Eat, or To Sleep...

It stormed for a little while this morning,

so Steve didn't go out until they passed.
He played with Sophia a little, studied his map.

On the way to the ramp, I fed Soso some sweet peas.

She was starving.

Kicking her little legs and protesting if

the spoon action was too slow.

Then...

out of nowhere...

the power nap hit mid-brunch.

I had to make her wake up to finish the bite in her mouth.

Too funny.

I'm not a big fan of the food on the mouth shot but here

is a before I cleaned her face slumber shot.

Took the bib off and cleaned her face with a wet wipe.

She never moved, but stuck that pouty lip out!

Cold March Rain

The weather is not too bad yet, but enough to keep Louie off the
boat. Going to be a long day! He is not happy! He rode yesterday though.

Napping with Risher. Had a fabulous breakfast at Market City Cafe in
Huntsville. We went back to the house to visit and hang out. Steve
napped in one chair, Sophia in the other!

Some Pig

We ate at Big Bob Gibson's BBQ with Kerry & Kevin Short tonight. Bunch
of trophies & ribbons...sweet Alabama iced tea! Soso had carrots, no
BBQ yet.

Everybody now...1, 2, 3...

"On the road again. Like a band of gypsies...". Early jumpers:
Howells, Shorts, Chapmans. All but 12 of us are moving east today. We
rolled out about 11AM. Still cold...

Brrrrr

Day 3 was called off due to weather. Steve wasn't fishing today. It's
cold...COLD...and blowing! Steve is cleaning clay off crocs that were
blown around the camp! Packing up to get outta here!

Visitors!

Sophia got to meet the Scheipeters today! Very excited & smiley! Matt
& Micha rock!

Day Two

Well, we had a nice limit today 14-3. Finished 67. Not great, but
we'll take the points and move it to Decatur!
Sophia wore her ladybug outfit today-fabulous!

Laundry

Yep...watching the clothes dry. Like watching the ceiling fan
turn...wild & crazy.

Our site

I love this state park. Well planned areas. Nice roads. Playground.
Two boat ramps. The clay...stain some stuff orange sea of red clay.
We heard there was a difference of opinion with the developer that
is now a lawsuit...sites aren't finished.
Everytime it rains, it gets worse.(3 major huge downpours since been
here)
So far, the just cleaned carpet has survived...manditory shoe removal/
paws wiped before enter!!

Boat #1

Sophia was asleep this morning. She had a busy morning...ate, smiled &
played with daddy, filled a diaper, then had to take a power nap.
during blast off...she was still passed out cold.
So, I ran down took this picture.
Handed SK his sunglasses. Ran back to the Jeep! Excellent I think with
the nuclear power plant in back...not bad for five second set up!
Just read forecast...hold onto your hats, it may be bumpy!

Last to Weigh

Well, they left around 10:20 am...Steve brought one fish that weighed
a little under 3 pounds. He's in 85th place. Little bit of a hole to
climb out of, but look for day two Kennedy!!

Waiting....

Still at this time, no blast off...9:22. They call it off at 11am if
the fog doesn't lift. So we wait...in the Jeep because 47 degrees out
there!!

Storm Rolling In

It was amazing, the cloud show, before the storm tonight. More

Tickle Attacks!

Steve can really get the big smiles and laughs!

Bus fever!

Most all of the camping fishermen are in...no practice for a few
hours. Hard rain. Thunder. Flooding our site...red clay flood. Always
fun! Sophia is napping right through it!!

Sweet Peas!

Our adventure continues into food.

She was like a little baby bird with her mouth open!

Steve fed Sophia sweet peas last night.Uncertain at first she tried them...

Then Steve had to fight for the spoon!She liked to make sure that both sides were clean

before letting go!

While I was cooking last night(yes it does happen),

Steve was playing with Sophia.

He calls me back there to come, "look, look, look!"

He was using his high pitched excited voice.

Steve was sticking his tongue out at her.

Then, she copied him!

I think it was a fabulous discovery for both.

Hysterical...and she is so happy to figure it out!

Now, who knows, she will probably be

doing it every chance she gets.

Great...

6-9 months

Somebody has grown past their age in size...cool pj's we got out of
bin. For some reason she likes to have cloth on her head?!

Visitor Center

While I checked us in, Steve & Sophia took in the amazing visitor
centers' displays. They had cool huge aquariums with native fish. Also
this cool bee hive display...Sophia & I will be coming back. She loved
watching the bees!

Traffic

Spring break traffic! I thought we were in recession!? Heck of day to
play license plate game. Just saw tag from Alberta. Crawling through
Birmingham...

Long Drive Ahead

So our journey of 600 miles begins...with a power nap. SK & Lou in the
bus, girls in the Jeep! (we are taking two boats)

Spring!

Not every outfit is pink...but most! Happy Friday everybody! Soso in
her jungle print.

Measuring Up

On the way to get the bus, we stopped off at Grandma K & Poppy's. The
wall in between the kitchen & den has marks from the grandkids'
growth...so we added Sophia! The line above is cousin Kennedy at one
year. She's tall!

Happy St. Patrick's

We are all wearing green! (Sophia has pink with green...) playing with
daddy to start the day!

Me & My Daddy

Steve got in at 1am this morning after a long straight drive from Del
Rio. Sophia is glad to have him back! She has a pouty lip reserved
only for Daddy...and it works on him! Hanging out, catching up on last
week...

Lunch date

We went to lunch at favorite place, Niffer's! Steve, Helen, Rory,
Sophia, & I had a great time.

Girlfriend likes to hold her own bottle...not well, but she does it.

Her eyelids are lead at this time of night,
barely finished the bottle before she was out!

Bath

This is a Steve look. I'm guessing she's saying, " woman, I'm in the
tub...naked for crying out loud! Put away the camera!"
Sophia loves bathtime. Kicks and splashes like crazy. Learned not to
wear longsleeves for the event. The sleeves will get wet.

Perfect

Louie thinks the new rug is for him...& it comes with his own
umbrella! Works.

Bottles Rock!

We've started adding rice cereal to bottles. She knows them on sight
and tries to hold it herself. Wonder where she gets the independent
streak!? So far, she's doing a good job!

Other Toy

Another cool contraption Shelby hooked us up with at the TNT sale, the baby Einstein bouncer thingy. Sophia loves it too. She gets mad that she can't get the frog into her mouth. It plays music, always a bonus. I picked up the perfect sized round tiger rug at Target today for underneath!

New Toy

We went to Birmingham this past weekend to hang out with Shelby.

She found this for Sophia at the TNT sale!

It's a "Jenny Jump Up" that attaches to the door jam.

(I remember Katherine K had one at our house, and loved it.)

Shelby put it up and pulled down on it...

it didn't move, so let the fun begin!

At first, it looked like she wasn't going

to have any part of the thing.
Then felt her legs under her...

then the jumping(more like twisting) was on!She likes it!

Warm Weather

Highs today were in the mid 70s...so we brought out the sundress &
shades. Very cute, & fabulous!

Alabama Tornado Damage

Steve & I drove out the other day to see the damage

from the storms last weekend.

All the following shots are from highway 280

in Alabama from Salem to Bleeker area.

(About 14 miles by car from our house)

According to the antique shop owner in Salem,

"not a soul was lost".

Amazing considering the damage to buildings...
