When One Isn't Enough

I swear she did this on her own! Kerry was in the truck and took this
photo as my witness. Soso bored on a trip to town, stuffed BOTH
pacifiers in her mouth. I thought taking one away was going to be bad...

The Thing About Rain

Sophia is loving splashing around in all the new puddles created just
for her and her boots!

Sleeping Through

FLW weigh-in today was spent in the truck. It's pretty much during her
naptime! I love it when she sleeps like Steve, hands behind her head.
Soso with Mickey and Frog Prince Naveen.

Yosemite Final Day

March 25, 2010
We went to breakfast by shuttle bus again...yum.
Sophia was in need of a nap,
so Soso and I went back to the Ahwahnee for
a real deal nap day.
Day two was a bit much for her
to take in-hiking and looking.
Karen went onto hike and have fun.
Soso got a much needed solid sleep.
We just hung out close to the hotel after she was up.
They had fabulous patios with tables
on the backyard.
Sophia was pushing her stroller around.
When she noticed this squirrel!
The hunt was on.
I had to stop her from petting the thing.
He was a little tame...use to humans. Too funny.
She followed him around for a while.
We hiked around and enjoyed the sunshine.
Then, took an afternoon nap.
Karen came back after her adventures,
and we went to dinner in the bar at our hotel.
Sophia checks out the ice bucket in the hall outside our room.
We also hiked to the base of the waterfall next to our hotel.
The yellow arrow point to our hotel room window!
Sophia playing on the lawn behind the hotel.
Our hike began with crossing a stream.
Sophia paused to look for fish!
Daddy's girl!
She picked up pine cones,
because there were no rocks?
Our destination the base of the waterfall.
We didn't have a trail...
just kinda followed the sights and sounds.
There was a bunch of mist at the base.
The view of the waterfall...best I could
do with little camera and little light!
The forest had a ton of trees cut...
Sophia wanted to sit on every stump!
She told Karen and I which ones were
our seats!
Soso's first walking stick!
Karen showed her the concept,
and how to work it.
Little practice getting the feel for it...
And she was off!
(Every hike since that moment,
she finds her stick to use!)
Our VIP parking spot...
because they were afraid that
the bears were going to shred the boat.
Sophia hiking it in to the hotel entrance,
with her stick of course!
Every time she passed this window
with the fake grapes, she pointed to them
and jabbered something!
Back in the Ahwahnee later,
(after a diaper change)
we listened to a storyteller by the fireplace
in one of the big gathering rooms.
The staff had placed chairs, comfy ones around
the fireplace.
Sophia made it through one story
before we had to retire to our room.
We had a great time in Yosemite.
I can't wait to go back again someday!
(I highly recommend 'camping' at the Ahwahnee!)

The Deep Sleep

The snoring continues into shopping! She had fun yesterday. We went to
the Lost Sea...photos later!

Take Off

Blast off isn't earlier this week...but Sophia is just not up to it!
Not that I blame her. FLW just lumps everyone together, then calls a
boat number. Way out in the mouth of the ramp.
(at BASS, they announce every angler by name and sponsor as go through
boat check close to the bank. With a pause for cheering...actually
until idle out of the way.)
Going to be an easy day today. At 130th place out of 140...lots of
room to improve! On the other hand, only so much further can fall too!
Here's to a great day for SK!

Yosemite the Second Day

March 24, 2010
We had huge breakfast at the cafeteria...
and it was good.
My little truck driver eater had her
usual eggs and sausage with grapefruit half.
Oh, and she decided that she liked hash browns.
A tiny cone that I handed her to check out
while we strolled to our first stop.
I actually pulled over the stroller
to take a picture of the falls...
when Sophia starts yelling at us to look.
(It's a muffled grunting sound)
My reaction was "what?"
Right beside us...DEER.
Karen and I were too busy with the waterfalls
that we didn't look to see right next to us
some grazing deer.
Way to point out the wildlife to US Soso!
I was distracted by photographing
this view!
We took a stroll to the base
of Lower Yosemite Falls
Soso at base of Lower
Yosemite Falls

On the way to the deli for lunch,
we happened to see a few of the native birds.
This one is a Steller's Jay
Acorn Woodpecker
After lunch power nap outside

You have to click on this photo,
make it large and get the humor here...
I hope you can put the two similar things together.
Half-Dome, one of the biggies of Yosemite Valley
The Yosemite Chapel
the oldest structure in Yosemite Valley
Walking in the pasture out back
of the chapel, Sophia leads Karen
Bear looks out on the field
Sophia took off running!
This was a harmless boardwalk,
so I let her go...she ran all the way
to the turn on it, never looked back either!
Karen hot on her heels
Having a great time out running her!
I wish this had audio...
She was squealing with laughter!
Bridge with a view.
Karen bought Soso 'Bear' at a gift shop.
Bear quickly became Sophia's favorite.
Sophia showed him the scenery as I had
been showing her all day.
It was cracking us up.
She would hold Bear up, point him in a direction,
and babble something to him about it!
Showing Bear the river.
Again showing Bear the Mountains!
Karen helping Sophia throw rocks into the water.
(Her new all time favorite thing to do)
Big dinner...and big pass out
after a hard day of fun!

First Day at Yosemite

When we left San Fransisco,
we drove over to stay in Yosemite National Park.
March 23-26, 2010
Sophia and I in front of the sign
at the entrance of the park
Cool surprise...snow!
Tons of snow!
Sophia isn't too sure about all of it.
The roads were perfectly fine,
great job of plowing.
We stayed at the Ahwahnee Hotel...
very nice.
Bathroom in our room.
Loved the tile.
Two comfy queen beds.
It was a sweet standard room.
Sophia loved the rubber
duckie on the toilet.
The hotel from the back...
love the waterfall to the left.
Sophia the explorer in action.
She was pointing out every bird...
every rock...stream...
loves the adventures outdoors.
A carved out stump behind the Ahwahnee.
Sophia enjoyed climbing on it.
Found a river on our mini-hike
behind the hotel.
Sophia leads Grandma Karen.
Back in the room...
right before we hit the pillow.
Big day two coming...
