Soso’s Birthday

We went to see Fantastic Beasts-Crimes of Grindelwald tonight. First showing. Night before opens nationwide. Had the theater to ourselves! Not pictured, Aunt Amy and KKat!

Quick Labor Day weekend trip to our favorite place. Scallops. New find-Decorator Spider Crab with tunicate colony. Dolphins. Sand dollars. Seastars...
SJ got his birthday gift, a new blue big bike!

Short Soccer Practice

Tonight both kids had soccer practice...briefly. A freak storm blew up and we were run off the field. Good news a Marco's pizza, pizza fairy appeared and handed out free pizzas! Dinner!

Grandad Bluff

Wednesday's adventures took us to Grandad Bluff. An overlook of La Crosse where you can see three states...WI, Iowa, and Minnesota. We didn't find any hiking trails, so hiked on the roads.

Wizard Quest!

On Tuesday, we went to Wizard Quest in Wisconsin Dells. It was an interactive quest in three realms-Air, Fire, Water, and Earth. Our team freed two out of four wizards...lol

Father’s Day

We saw Incredibles 2 in La Crosse, WI. The theater had leather recliner seats! 😳

Drive to Wisconsin

We made two overnight stops...
One campground had an excellent open field for soccer. The fireflies were going nuts everywhere around us when we pulled into the place.
The Illinois welcome center was near Metropolis. The Superman cutout was cool. 🤣
Last night, we stopped in Deforest, Wisconsin at a KOA. It was close to the interstate. After a long day of driving, nice to pull in, eat, and sleep!

Summer Officially Begins...

We start off this year, Sabine River. The squiggly line that makes up the Texas and Louisiana border. Kids were doing some serious top of their lungs singing in the backseat. 🤣 We started out at 5am...

Beach Trip

We left at 4am Saturday and back Sunday around 6pm? Quick trip to Santa Rosa Beach with Shelby. Great fast trip to stick our toes in the sand and feel the sun on our face!

Fireworks!

We had no idea where the fireworks were going to be shot from...just hoped we'd get a glimpse. Then...they started right on the hill next to our condo! Front row seating for a wonderful display. Well done Steamboat...well done!

Gondola Square Friday Night

We met the coca-cola bear. Watched the skiing light parade. There was a magician for the kids. Music playing...of course, they danced. Then warmed our hands by the fire before catching the shuttle back to the condo to watch the fireworks.

Lunch then Up Again!

We ate lunch. Soaked in the hot tub. Got dressed again. SK and Soso skied to the Gondola; SJ and I rode the shuttle down. We met at the gondola gate, and rode to the top again.
We watched them go off to ski and rode back down the mountain. Making the most of our lift tickets!

SK sent me the photo of Soso's leg measuring the depth! They had a blast skiing in the "champagne powder". I rode up the gondola to pick up SJ. He wiped out too much many times in the deep snow. Got it down his jacket...got wet then cold. We raced Soso and SK down the mountain for lunch. Amazing views up there.
