Made Sophia a fresh homemade waffle. Six candles. Opened gifts before school. They played a couple rounds of Connect Four...if you don't know the game, come to the house you will be schooled!
We took brownies up to Sophia's school for snack time. So cute to see her with all her classmates.

Big 6 birthday
One of my favorite parts of their birthdays...the midnight decorating of the rooms while they sleep. I'm not exactly sure when this started, but I can't stop now. Sophia's theme was Frozen. I had balloons covering the floor. Iridescent tissue paper for ice o freeze the stuffed animals and doorway. A few ceiling dangles. And the Mylar balloon on her table. Oh and some glitter Christmas "snow" scattered on the floor.
Sophia was grinning big when she awakened!
I said, Happy Birthday Baby!"
She replied, "Mom. 6 is on the big side of 1-10. So, now you have to call me 'big girl' instead of 'baby'."
Uh. Fat chance baby. :)

Sophia's First Field Trip
To the pumpkin patch, October 15, with her class! They picked cotton. Jumped in corn. Played on playground. Saw chickens. Baby cow. Hayride out to "pumpkin patch"...imported pumpkins scattered about on ground...she picked out "the perfect pumpkin". Good day. Glad she asked me to join her!
Country On Way
Because we drove right by the church property, we took a spin through Gosh Almighty. We love it. Kids love it. Always good to see what's going on up there...water is down in creek. Spiders were hard at work while we were gone!
Hike to Bald Rock
It was a little crowded on the hike and out at the view. We had a good walk through the woods to get there though. Beautiful view of the valley on a perfect fall day!
Cheaha State Park
We took the kids to the highest point in Alabama-Mt. Cheaha! Naturally, we climbed to the top of the tower!
Meandering Road Home
We drove through the Talladega National Forrest on our way home. Some of the roads we chose...we not on the GPS. It just felt right. SK and I love some dirt and gravel roads!
We stopped to check out a campground. Used the facilities...just not the showers! Wasn't in mood for electrocution!

CB & LB wedding
We had a blast at Brown's wedding in Scottsboro this weekend. They were married by the lake. Reception followed at their house. We danced until our feet were numb. Sat out. Danced some more! I wish I had taken a photo of Sophia on the full dance floor...she owned it.

Tallapoosa Vine Swing
Provided by nature. SJ and Soso loved swinging from the vines! It would be a better country po kids shot without the wetsuit...and life jacket...and goggles! Maybe lose the shoes too...next time!
Uncle Johnny's Land
We picked up our picnic lunch at the General in New Site. Ate at our last stop Uncle Johnny's land on the Tallapoosa. Kids couldn't stand it, went for a swim.
Then, metal detectors came out of vehicles to see what we could find! A 1990's quarter. Beer tabs. Beer cans. Piece of aluminum foil. Treasure is still out there...SJ dropped the quarter!
The fun playing along the bank involved dodging cow and donkey piles! Kids learn something new every trip.

Gosh Almighty
No trip up to Clay County is complete until you drive through Gosh Almighty Rd. We stopped at the creek and let Sophia show off her bow skills.
