Thanksgiving Firsts

Wednesday we celebrated with a fabulous meal with Grandma and Grandpa. Good food. Great laughs and company.
Watched the people cut the ribbon at Macy's parade. Made cookies. We drove to Alex City to celebrate with the Darkside. Again Good food. Great laughs and company!
It was a day of first traditions...fishing and shopping! Before the kids were too little, but we decided this was the year! The guys stayed at the cabin and the girls drove home to Auburn for Black Friday!
SK took SJ fishing on Lake Martin with Poppy to catch whatever bit. Cat, Soso, and I hit the sales at midnight! We shopped until 4AM.
I think everybody is having a Happy Thanksgiving!
(Sophia designed two outfits this year. A ribbon "feathered" turkey t-shirt and a turkey dress. She picked the colors and design..."her fashion"!)

Plasma Time

I borrowed some tools from SK and made a sign this week for Shelby to hang on the tree at the Birmingham Airport. SJ was in charge of packaging label. Looks good from the photos I have seen!

Raptor Center Field Trip

Sophia's class went to the SE Raptor Center for a field trip Thursday. It was cold! Drizzle rain. The birds didn't fly. It was not the normal Friday night show. Sophia knew all the birds by name. :) Proud of her. Especially when a "big bird" as her classmates called out circled in the sky overhead. He wasn't part of the show. Sophia said, "Look a black vulture! I see the silver."

Best thing...she rode the bus from her school!

Neighbor's Tree

This is a magnificent all yellow tree in the fall on our street.

Bike Project

The two Steve's had a good time turning an old red bike into a balance bike, no pedals. Stripped of gears. Cut out a section.
SJ picked an Auburn theme. He designed the bike. I took him sticker shopping. Really cute watching him looking at all the options before choosing THE ones.
I think he enjoyed the process most.

Favorite Friday Activity

The Friday before every home game, we attend "Football, Fans and Feathers" at the Auburn University College of Veterinary Medicine's Southeastern Raptor Center.
The great horned owl had a random kid rush him moments before the photo and flapped Soso an SJ in the head...just explaining why they are leaning waaaaaay over!
Always good to see the raptors! They do flight demonstrations. One guy was wing slapped by the barn owl. Sophia was so jealous!

Birthday party day!

Sophia requested a dramatic entrance to music with an Elsa/frozen theme...with help, it happened.

Halloween again

After we wrapped up the fun downtown, we took the party to Grandma and Grandpa's house!
Pumpkin photos SJ chose the scary face. Sophia drew the tink and I carved it for her!
