100 Days of School
The PreK dressed up as old people for the 100th day of school today! They brought in 100 of a snack to share. SJ took in pretzel fish and Hershey kisses. They did a 100 yd dash. 100 fitness things. Cute idea. SJ partied then crashed like his old man!

SK went up the mountain to do some big runs solo. The kids took to the small areas where we could walk them. Got to meet the rescue mascot dog!

Saturday Morning Run
Early bird gets the fresh snow! Sophia was up early. She was afraid SK would leave without her! The went up the mountain and did some green trails, "Why Not" and "So What" I believe.

Ski School SJ
He checked in at 9:30, and we picked him up at 3:45. He had a blast! SK took him up the mini-slope for "7 times" run down.
Let's just say he's sleeping well tonight! He fell asleep on the shuttle ride home...and we dressed him for bed...put him in bed, he never moved!

What the Fox Said
SK saw a fox while unloading the truck. I threw on my coat and went back out with him. Fresh snow made for easy tracks!! He left our condo. Went down the hill. We followed to a cool obvious pounce in the snow! Not sure if he got dinner there or not. There were way too many tracks and places to hide! Fun time though!
Drive Up
I never knew how cool seeing a snowplow could be, until the ride up!
There was snow. White out the roads. Snow. We made it up...thank you snowplow! Steamboat Springs, Colorado

Short Hike
We hiked down to check out the creek on the Wichita Mountain Refuge. Saw deer scat. Beautiful lime green lichen.
Magical place.

Sophia's Work
I found this on my desk this morning while cleaning up the old year. I love the fact that she could draw in detail each habitat at the beginning of the first grade year. It's amazing and a blessing to think she has already visited each and every one of these at age 7!

Bake Till You Drop!
December 23, "Christmas Eve eve", 2015, was designated cook day by Chef Soso.
That morning, Sophia said she was going into the kitchen to get the things together to make the brownie reindeer. I said ok, be right in to help.
When I walked in, she had picked out red M&M's for noses. Had SJ munching the pretzels to make "antlers". Eyes were out. She had the frosting putting it all together!
(I .immediately halted the use of half chewed pretzels and suggested we use a knife instead to make the antler shapes. But thanked SJ for all his hard work.)
Next up, sugar cookies. They were so much fun to make and yummy! Half the time I caught the kids squirting it directly into their mouths! Tis the season!
Next, chocolate chip cookies. Easy enough and delicious! We made two ziplock bags stuffed full to take to the cabin for Christmas.
Chef Soso did well.
