Last night, SK and Soso had a date for the dance. Our neighbor, Rick, and his daughter went to dinner and dance with them.
She once again designed the dress with a matching tie and I sewed it. A local children's hair salon had a special for style and nails just for the occasion. She chose "an upswept do and red with gold glitter polish".
SK went out the downstairs door and rang the front doorbell. Sophia ran to the door, opened it to find daddy with a box. A wrist corsage with three tiny roses and a matching boutonnière!
Upon returning home, Sophia said, "Daddy was IN the grove! He danced all the dances!"
"He danced the wobble, Macarena, comic shuffled, whipped and ney ney, chicken dance, YMCA, train, slow dances, and volleyball!!!" The volleyball was a dance another couple had made up because the daughter played! You have laugh!
Well done SK.
She smiled from ear to ear leaving and when she came home!
Best date ever.

Spring Swimming
This morning we went snorkeling in the Salt Springs! Well, the kids and SK did. It was too cold for my blood! They saw mullet, bass, some kind of flounder, and bluegill!
Made it
This weekend we went down to Salt Springs to visit SK. He's down practice fishing for the St. John's River. We did our traditional stop at the Florida welcome center for "the best fresh orange juice ever".
As the last sun rays of the day were leaving, we pulled up to the boat ramp. SK was just about to take the boat out of the water. Instead of taking it out, we all jumped in the boat to see if we could catch just a glimpse of a manatee. Boy, did we ever!
On our maybe fifteen minute trolling motor ride around the spring, we saw about ten! The kid's eyes and smiles were huge. They had forgotten how large the sea cows were and it was as if they were seeing the creatures again for the first time. Magical.

Star Wars Gala
The public library held a dress up party for kids of all ages. My Leia and Chewbaca had a blast! There were games and even wookie cookies!
