Dam Tour Part 2

Monday

SK took us out on a dam tour/boat ride. Kids enjoyed it. I'm not a fan of the turbulent water. We did see a ton of fish and a cool waterfall. SK said it was a leak through the rocks from the lake above, a beautiful mistake.

Back at Bus

Sophia and SJ drew the favorite part of the day.
Sophia did a beautiful picture of the lion and lioness in the enclosure. Complete with the lion under the umbrella shade.
SJ drew a page of different types of snakes and fish. I'm not sure we were on the same day trip...there's even a rattlesnake. Maybe I should look around more often!!!

Last shots from UNA

We walked around what I imagine is just a small portion of campus. Circling back to the fountain, we stopped to see Leo awake...then go back to sleep.
As we left...the kids posed like the lions as I requested. Smarty pants.

UNA Exploration Cont

We saw the bells...squirrels(SJ may have chased a few)...

We Meandered

There was a huge out of place highway sign that read "University of North Alabama" in middle of downtown...so we turned.
Saw a REALLY COOL fountain, so we parked. Cool fountains have to have pennies thrown into them, our unspoken rule. Grabbed pennies, ran to the fountain.
While walking around the fountain...we saw "Lion Habitat". Of course, we walked over there to check it out!
There we met, Leo III and Una. A lion and lioness, I'm guessing, the mascot of UNA. Kids loved seeing them...lay in the dirt. And breathe. Maybe twitch a tail. Our plan is to return in early morning when the lions might move.
Since we found this...exploring was on!
