Waterfall Hike

Today we hike inside the state park.
The trail was called "Waterfall"
I was skeptical about the size or existence
of labeled waterfall...
It was a short walk in, then you could hear the water!
I'll take the mud at the campground
if it means pretty falls due to rain.
All over the woods were a variety
of fungus on the trees.
Tammy and Kerry at the start...
few mud puddles.
Very lush green.Like this tree with faces on it.
There was another eye shape lower.
Straight out of an enchanted forest!
Sophia as we start the hike...not looking to good.
She's digging it, but kinda sleepy.
Fresh air...waterfall...trees...cloudy...yawn...
Norma, Kerry, Tammy, Ali taking in the creek
Here is the waterfall!
Doesn't look that big...find Kerry.
Hint: upper left...it was a nice chunk
of rocks with water.
In the middle of the hike...Soso crashed hard.
She was out for the count.
I had to fill her in later...
"trees, rocks....walk, walk...trees, rocks, beautiful"
I put my camera and backpack down to walk up the waterfall.
Sophia LOVED it.
As we got closer to the rushing water,
the sound grew louder...her eyes got bigger.
It was pretty amazing seeing it through her eyes.
Sophia gets a closer look at the water...
put her toes in again.
(Thank you to the person that snagged the camera
and snapped these shots! Love them!)
This is a HUGE tree house in the woods...
the occupant was not at home.

Stubborn tree growing between rocks

More fungus stuff
There were a ton of trees down.
Not sure from winds or water logged soil?
Our piled up rocks
About to leave, one last us shot.
(Thank you Tammy for taking this)

  5. Sharing life with friends is sharing life and love. Sharing the vast journey of the outdoors is sharing the love of the Great Spirit. And seeing life thru the eyes of Soso is seeing life and the gift from the Great Spirit.
    Thank you, Love ya,
