On our drive over, we stopped in Jackson, MS.

Met Matt and Simon Scheipeter to get our other boat.

We had lunch at the Cracker Barrel.

Today, Sophia and I went to

the Krewe of Centaur's parade

in downtown Shreveport.

I took random shots of the floats...
to give everybody a feel for it.

Every float has a theme with everybody in costume.
Music blaring.

ARRRRRG!

It was somewhere in the 40's temperature wise.
Pretty nippy, so we bundled up in layers.
Here's Soso in her stroller with Mickey blanket.

Sophia liked this one because of the cow...
she "mooed" at it.

I think it only took Sophia watching a couple of floats,
to catch onto the whole process.
She watched the folks around us hold up their hands,
and cheer...then get beads!

She was in the game!

Between the floats were other cool things.
There were a group of men with umbrellas.
This dragon was really fun to watch,
Soso clapped for it.

We needed a wing man to catch all

the beads that were thrown at Soso.
I wasn't that good with the catching and holding her thing.
The people around us cleaned up!

When we made it back to the truck...
Sophia didn't make it out of the parking lot!
She was OUT!
I always take this as a huge compliment.

If you notice, she has a death grip on the pink string.

Back at the bus,
we showed off her prizes to Steve.

So excited over shiny plastic...
She and I both!
We had a great second Mardi Gras parade.
