Fourth Girls Daytrip

After a few morning storms on July 4th...
Sophia, Mesha, and I decided
to let the men fish...we'd go shopping
and exploring!
First stop, Cape San Blas Lighthouse
A must see.
We headed next to Apalachicola, FL
not too bad of a drive from Port St. Joe.
We walked around and shopped.
I scored a new pair of flip flops in a bigger size,
little bit of feet swelling action starting.
We got a snack at a chocolate sweets store.
Took it down to the waterfront to eat.
We were dodging rain under the canopies of the shops!
Sophia dancing in front of shrimp boats.
Not sure if it was the weather, holiday, or oil
that had so many docked for the day.
Our next cool find was an antique/nautical
collection of stuff store called the "Tin Shed"
I scored some decorations for SJ's room...
Sophia made a fast friend for life-Bailey the guard dog.
They shared her goldfish crackers...
one for me, one for you!
A few seconds before the foil crinkled, Bailey
was passed out on the floor behind the counter!
St. George Lighthouse in its
new location.
This photo seemed bland...
so I sent in my assistant to add spice.
Sophia helped generate some
life...made the birds take to the sky.
Pleased with her efforts...
she returned.
Ahh..much better photo!
Thank you Soso for a job well done.
She loves to chase the birds,
always has...even when all she could
do was crawl!
We went out onto the beach behind the lighthouse
for a little bit. Sophia dug in the sand
with her Gelato spoon from earlier.
Chased a few more birds.
Then, it was back to the camp to meet
for fireworks over the water
viewed from the boat!
