Wednesday March 9, 2010

We were at the launch for the last mission
of the space shuttle Discovery.
This was her last mission.
So when I learned that we would be in the area for the landing...
I put the kids in the truck and drove over!
(Steve was having to pre-fish for the tournament
at the Harris Chain BASS event.
He was the one that pushed me out the door.
Said I was crazy if I didn't go see it without him.
Thank you.)
Sophia, with her new first haircut, waits in her
theme appropriate buzz dress...
She jumped up into my arms when the shuttle
reentry double BOOM! happened.
First sighting...tiny.
It flew in front of us,
turned around and landed right in front of us!
Well, across the water.
The turn back south...
all the birds in the area jumped with the boom.
It came down really fast once it appeared to line up.
The people out on the pier had a closer view...but have
to been standing in their spot for quite a while!
My little viewing group!
We ran back to the truck,
jumped in so we could get Steve out
of the water to go to the meeting.
Highly recommend seeing the launch
or landing!
