We beached it for the morning. There is a beautiful white sand beach at Bahia Honda State Park called Sand Spur. (I want to say this is the only natural sand beach in the keys.) The water was crystal clear with the Keys signature shades of blue and turquoise.
Steve helped the kids boogie board in the surf. They laughed with huge smiles. I heard "MY TURN!! MY TURN!!!" several times. The waves were just enough to ride, not overwhelming.
We hiked in the water along the shore to a point on the island. There are two coconut trees on the channel hanging over the water. Beautiful!
