Tuesday's Storms

So, I drive to Ohio to pick up Steve out of Erie.
He thought the wind and weather might be bad making the run back
hard or impossible.
Drove to Ohio...saw lighthouse!
Louie and I could hear thunder at Marblehead Light.
Watched the clouds roll in over the thing!
Drove to the first boat ramp to get Steve
who was out on the water fishing still during all this...
Right after the tornado sirens sounded, the radio warning,
these clouds came over the boat ramp. I'm sitting in the Jeep contemplating
"seeking shelter immediately, abandoning vehicles..."

With them came a huge wind!

(I'm still waiting on a call from Steve at ramp.)

Random group of swans went by on water were so peaceful,

and NUTS!

Here are my geese friends that hung out in the parking lot with me.

During one point I looked over at them...they were sliding uncontrollably sideways.

Weird and humorous, as if ice skating on the asphalt.

When they started to flap against it...I knew we were in trouble.

A huge gust of wind hit the Jeep and felt like it moved it to the left a little.

Just glad no funnel cloud.

Ended up meeting SK at another ramp at a campground off a cove SK ran for shelter. AND yes, not to be disappointed or surprised, the oh so friendly folks wouldn't let me use the boat ramp unless I was a "registered camper". Paid freaking $20 for a campsite(rather than make him go around in the storm) and finally picked up SK. He was a little wet...

Back at our campground found that it had rained a little here too...
