Day 9-Move & More Fishing

We went across town(no room in the KOA) for the night.
It was a good move. We were closer to the park gate.
Five minutes if that!
After we parked, we hit the park.
We were going to drive the Old Falls Road...
it was closed for repairs, set to re-open 4th July.
So...we went on a sheep hunt.
Steve and Soso looking for bighorn sheep...
key word looking.
Never saw any while we were there.
Mountain bluebird
The elk were laying down...a great number of them
in this herd too!
Bird
Around the park and out at Lily Lake,
I was in wildflower heaven!
I took a few pictures...
Steve read on-line that Lily Lake was THE place
to greenback catch cutthroat trout.
He fished the entire lake...no luck.
It was a beautiful lake though...
Fishing
More flowers
Cool birds
Sophia and I amongst some wild daisies
I so need to get a wildflower book
The hummingbirds were zooming around our heads.
They are so loud and numerous in Colorado.
Beautiful
Another hummingbird
Columbine
Louie wasn't allowed to walk around the lake path,
so we walked around right outside the fence.
Ground rodent laughing at Louie
Couple of Sophia shots
She had a blast taking in all the flowers
and sights.
We left the lake and returned to the park.
Sophia & I walked up to falls
while Steve explored the river
across from the falls.
We joined him after we checked everything else.
He looked like he was having fun.
Fish on and jumping!
So amazing watching Steve fish in the valley,
as the sun sets behind him.

Soso and I followed and took pictures. She napped a little too!

Another wonderful Colorado day...
