Napa Valley

March 17, 2010
Wives road trip!
We went to Napa Valley for the day.
I think it was about an hour drive from
where we were staying at Clear Lake
out in California.
First stop on the tour...
so wasted on me.
They had the coolest gift shop
with all these really interesting
gourmet kitchen toys and gadgets.
At the end of the gift shop,
a chef aquarium!
You could watch one of the cooking
classes being held.
Some of the spices
View of the spice garden
(terraced hillside on the left)
and the front of the school
They had beautiful flower beds
everywhere in Napa
Everything was so happy
Orange tree out in front of school
Sophia and I by the sign.
Notice the vineyard across the street.
Sophia was pushing Kade's stroller!
Men working out in the field
Again flowers everywhere!

Kade feeding Sophia an animal cracker...
Sophia feeding Kade an animal cracker.
I think they were taking bites for
themselves off the crackers too.
Our picnic lunch at V. Sattui Winery
It was such an amazing perfect weather day!
The colors were vibrant
Shot of the picnic area.
We had lunch here...
delicious.
Sophia going to check on Kade
She was too cute...
I love the expression on her face...
as if she is asking him,
"what are you doing over here?"
Busted.
She sees me taking photos...
moment officially over.
They had fun playing and chasing each other.
Soso was faster...
but in fairness, she is older
by two months.
This just cracked me up...
she stood there for the longest time.
Kerry Short and Soso stop to smell the tulips.

One of the buildings on the property.
Sophia and I in the cellar...
She actually looks like she's had too many!
The group(L-R):
Kade, Tuesday, Kylee, Sophia, me,
Kerry, Megan, and Norma
After we took in the winery,
we headed downtown to shop!
This is sadly where Curry(stuffed dog) was last seen.

Next stop-
Beringer Winery
Kerry and Norma help
Sophia up the stairs.
Soso was loving it!
THE Tree.
It's on the label...
The Rhine House
built in 1883

Sophia and I were out of the tasting...
benched if you will.
So we ran around outside like crazy people
pushing the stroller!
Oops, ran into the sign.
She was having a blast doing it.
I just let her go...
hoping it would induce
a nap on the ride home!
Good to know info...
The sign coming into the region The last(or first) glimpse of the valley.
It was a really fun day for the both of us.
I was blown away with how beautiful
green and colorful everything was...
and I didn't even have a drink of wine!
Next trip...
