We touched the toes for luck. This time they weren't scalding hot! Bonus.
Entering the dam tour area we learned two things-
No food. We had to eat or toss our snacks.
Children under eight were not allowed on the dam tour.
We settled for the powerhouse tour. Still mind blowing how large the components are...the amount of water.
At the end of the tour, the guide corralled all of us to wait on the up elevator. She asked the obligatory "does anyone have any questions?".
SJ, without informing us, raised his hand and said, "I have a question."
She said, "oh. Ok, what's that?" as puzzled as the rest of us.
"How exactly does the water BECOME power?", he asked with a contorted face. Using his hands for emphasis.
Giggles from the tour group.
She replied, "well, when you get off the elevator there's an interactive room that can explain it better." Clearly she had failed at her job.
After the tour, we went into the interactive learning room for kids. SJ and Soso were all over it. And it did a better job of explaining the process because you got to play!
