Moose Cove 2

We don't keep rocks...so we took photos of a few favorite. Love the rock beaches up here.
SJ was Lion King inspired pose.

Boat Ramp!

We stopped to check out the action at the first boat ramp south of Calais, Maine. Brackish water ramp with the tide way out.
The kids immediately asked for their sketch books to draw the critters in the water! We saw sea stars, sea urchins, crabs, hermit crabs, and snails. Good first stop!

Last Moose Cove

I saw where the trail went...SJ chose a little harder route. I met them at the top to their surprise!

Moose Cove Beaches

Hiking on the big rocks

Moose Cove

No moose, but we hiked out to the beach anyway!

Lunch!

Breakfast for lunch. Eggs, sausage, and pancakes...in the lighthouse parking lot!

Easternmost

Lubec, Maine...easternmost city in continental US.

More, Because I Like It

West Quoddy Lighthouse and wild flowers around it!

West Quoddy Lighthouse

Fogged in again this trip! We have now added the easternmost point.

Parallel!

45th parallel! We crossed it. We are equal distance to equator as the North Pole!
And it's niiiiiice up here. The temp has stayed under 70 all morning.

Hwy 9 ME

Random. Tractor museum. It had a super cool trailer with tractor seats covering it!

Through the Woods

We took a highway...a shortcut...through the woods. It was a dirt road. In the trees, there was an elaborate system of hoses and pipes. Our guess, maple syrup gathering.
The drive from NY through VT and NH to ME was a series of picturesque towns and villages. Enjoyed the drive.

Covered Bridge

28 June 2016
Somewhere in Vermont-near Montgomery we saw so many cute covered bridges.
