Bee Mine

June 22, 2016
After all the excitement of the day, we walked the trash at bedtime. Then, went on an animal hunt. We saw deer, rabbit, different birds, and some road kill. At the end, I pointed out a set bee hive boxes.
Just as I did a man pulled up in a truck. Momma bear claws came out. He slowly got out of the truck and introduced himself. He was the bee keeper, named Gary. Mr. Gary showed the kids how the hives worked. Gave each a piece of honeycomb. Then a taste of the honey. We thanked him for the bee tour.
He delivered a HUGE chunk of honeycomb a few minutes later full of the sweetest honey I have ever tasted. We shared with the rest of the group the next morning.
I hope the kids remember this experience! Super cool.
