Seward Assassination Attempt

The tour of the stately home turned a creepy corner with a room about the assassination attempt. Our little petite tour guide that had described the China place setting with a soft voice and care...went over the top gore with the assassination night meant to kill Lincoln, Johnson, and Seward. 😳 The blood stained sheet hangs on the wall. There's a HUGE photo of the Lincoln conspirators hanging. My children will not forget the peril and repercussion of that night anytime soon! Me either.
Seward survived, but his wife died soon after "from the stress".
I kept checking the kids to make sure ok with all this.
The tour then goes downstairs to the couch where he died. Way to end on a dark note. Death is the end all of the story I guess.
