After Shelby left, Soso and I were sitting in our
hotel room in San Fransisco.
The broken boat trailer, in Ventura,
wouldn't be fixed until Friday.
We had a few days to kill.
I looked at Sophia while she was coloring...
asked, "Would you like to go see Mickey at his house?"
She looked up from her work,
her eyes got big...and she replied. "YES!"
That settled that.
A phone call later we had a room at Disneyland Hotel.
Here we come Anaheim, CA!
(I wonder if I had asked if she wanted to watch Mickey
get eaten by a cat if her reaction would have been the same.
If all she heard was Mickey Mouse in the question...?)
We checked into the hotel March 3rd.
(Stayed two nights)
At the front desk, the lady said we were
getting an upgraded room.
Wow, that never happens,
Soso and I will take it!
(Had to make a quick parts run for the trailer fix.)
Then we went to our room!
Um...it was HUGE!
That's the front door to the left of the bar,
and this is the living room section.
Sophia was loving exploring the room.
Desk beside the bedroom door...
Sophia already a step ahead of me.
One of her favorite parts of the room.
Mickey eared soaps!
She also thought it was so cool
that they left a bar of soap on the tub.
Our bags came, then we hit the pillow.
And let me say...it was a very nice pillow.
Breakfast was at the
Rainforest Cafe.
Sophia using the iPhone to take pictures
of the "ish" in the aquarium.
She gets that from Steve.
Looked at each and every fish...twice.
After Soso finished her usual truck driver breakfast,
we were off to Disneyland.
Taking in all the people just inside the gate.
A lady was nice enough to take our picture
in front of Cinderella's castle.
(So much smaller than Disneyworld's)
Beautiful flowers and weather!
Of course...
King Arthur's carousel.
It's a Small World ride,
waiting in line.
Pretty excited about getting into the boats.
Next, we went to visit the princesses.
Cinderella got a hug...a QUICK hug.
This is as close as she would get to Belle.
The big yellow hoop skirt kinda freaked me out too.
Ariel got knuckles...on the run.
All in all, princesses were not high on the list.
After the princess visit, we got on the train.
I thought maybe she'd enjoy the view and the wind.
She did just a little too much!
Fell fast asleep.
It doesn't look like it, but she is tilted
back in her stroller where she took
a nice long and much needed nap.
Next stop, Mickey Mouse's house.
The reason for the trip...the man.
Stood in line for thirty minutes...
got into the room with Mickey...
Sophia was smiling, pointing, and babbling.
Two feet from the mouse,
FREAKED.
SCREAMED BLOODY MURDER!
We left the house of the mouse
without photo.
Without haste.
Not to return.
It was OK from a distance.
BUT NOT UP CLOSE!
This was as close as I dared
get to Minnie Mouse.
Sophia was good with the space too.
On to the rides!
Buzz Lightyear was her favorite ride.
When we exited the ride,
she signed "MORE" "PLEASE"!!
So, we rode it a few times.
Watching the teacups across the way,
while standing in line for the Alice in Wonderland
ride. She wanted to go on it, but was too small.
Back in our room after a very fun day,
we discovered treats on our pillow!
(Soso looks at restaurant butter in foil wrapping like
it's chocolate now. Ticked when it's not what she thinks!)
Crashing hard...
the photo is so bad due to lack of light
before the flash.
Our room before we left on Friday.
Soso STILL exploring behind the couch.
We had views of the courtyard
Ah...
the huge king bed that I had to myself.
I'm going to miss it the most!
