Day Three...Errands with some fun

Today was a stay close to home day.

We finally went to the grocery store.

We launched SK today up north...

then went on a mini chase for lighthouses.

I found three, but they are privately owned.

We sorta just drove passed...turned around in their driveway! SK leaving the ramp...

wondering what am I doing?

I jumped out of the truck on the ramp to snap

a few pictures of him leaving.

View of city of Plattsburgh from Cumberland Head

(Statue below is on the right)
I stopped next to a corn field to show Sophia
how corn grows...she was facinated!

We drove by several pretty farms

View from our deck for the week.
Sophia calls it "her new house!"

The poor tree in the yard was snapped by hurricane Irene.

The rental home owner child-proofed
just for us!
SJ has admired their work...so I keep
an eye on him at all times when

we are on the middle level!

Really cool pink firetruck we saw on the road
to the ramp this morning.
(Shout out K Pinks)

I think, that maybe we've been to a certain

fast food establishment

a few too many times...

Rather than saying "COW!"
or "MOO!" when we drove by this field...
Soso yelled out instead,

"ChickaWAY!! Momma! CHICKAWAY!"

There are so many beautiful boats moored in marinas
and right offshore around Champlain.

Samuel de Champlain staue checking out the storm...
this is part of the view from the other side.

(I'm at a yield sign at a round-about, no traffic.

Perfectly safe photo taking)
The first time we drove through this area,
commentary from the backseat,

"GUYS!

WOO, EVERYBODY!

BIG PANE. BIG PANE!"
Steve and I looked up...she must be confused.
OR WE WERE BLIND!
Points to Sophia for spotting the planes...

THE HUGE PLANES on the ground.
Plattsburgh use to have an airforce base here.

Picking up daddy was quiet...
both kids were snoring!

Front of house...cottage feel to it.

The reflection of the sunset on the storm
out back of the cottage.
As far as I know, it never rained here.

The rear of the house...
huge lawn to play in.

SK and SJ checking out the water at sunset.
We went down to the shore to check out a lighthouse

on the island across from us.

SJ was barely awake from his power nap

in the truck on the way to the ramp...

Sophia looked so cute today...
she wanted "two ponytails. Two."
Very specific...and not kidding.

She was on the rocks with us too

checking it out.

SJ first evergreen encounter...
ooooooooooh.
Very fascinated!
I can't help but know,

he's wondering if it's edible!

Getting dark, so we hike it back to the house.

A shot of the moonrise from the deck.

Breath taking watching it dance on the water...

Sigh.

As I type...I'm listening to the sounds of everyone sleep.

I think I'll join them!
