Our First Full Day in NY

We had a day of fun on Saturday before the event starts

here at Lake Champlain.

Near the house, AuSable Chasm!

I took Louie here every trip up here.
Soso loved the waterfall.
I was stressed out...that's WAY down there.
Our visit on the bridge was brief.

We took the long ferry ride

across Champlain to Burlington, VT

Beautiful views of the mountains

Below the deck, the ferry
had a snack bar, restrooms, and snack bar!
Sophia and Steve bought a hot dog for breakfast.
She took me down to show off the cool stuff.

We did not need the VT black bear snow globe.

Another bonus, all the sailboats.
This just seems wrong to me.

Sophia pointing out the sailboats to me.

SJ enjoyed most of the ride...snoring!

Burlington Light

( I can't figure out how to flip this photo?)
Here with "Champy"
Lake Champlain's monster!
Could happen...the lake is 400 feet deep in places.

Definitely not a good lake to drop your sunglasses

or cellphone over the side of the boat!

SJ playing in the playground

outside the restaurant

Sophia mastered crawling up the wall
to get to the slide.
She went from needing a hand
to GET OUT OF THE WAY...
too quickly!

Part of an art display around town.
"Flying monkeys"
Burlington is an interesting place...
very...earthy?
There was a little festival in the town square.

Everything was organic.

SJ riding around town on Daddy's shoulders.

Lunch at Breakwater Cafe and Grill

was next to the water.

SJ grabbed and dumped Steve's Pepsi...again.

We listened to the Auburn game on XM

as we drove around VT!

Rather than jump another ferry, we took the long

way home across the island.

Dinner was in downtown Plattsburgh at a pizza place.

We sat outside and took in the local sights and sounds...

some of them needed mufflers!

  1. :) very reminiscent of the great spill of '10 at Joe! Only surrounded by and waited on by Vermontians. I would think with all the surrounding natural beauty and potential herbal supplement use, they'd be more friendly...
