KOA Fun
Our first campground for the CA Delta event was so much fun. Kid pool, jump pillow, honey suckle vines. We were in a tree shaded oasis!

The Bridge
Danger...the bridge out has been modified, renovated. There are now cables between side rails. The gaps in the slats you walk on are close. Wider planks.
I was good with them walking out!
The first shot is from today. The second is 2010!

Bonita Light
The hike, or more like stroll, out to the lighthouse is just amazing views in any direction!
There's a tunnel through a rock...every great adventure has to have a mysterious tunnel!
This light is out there. Watching over the Bay and the Pacific Ocean. Wow.

Day Trip to SF
We left late in the morning, so only did Point Bonita Lighthouse hike. Views of the Golden Gate Bridge.
When he saw the GGB, SJ was a little miffed.
"It isn't gold. It's red. It's light red!", SJ said quite emphatically.
Sophia remembered nothin from her previous trip out!

Good Bye Yosemite
It was a sad good bye...in a warm truck.
There was a bear trap set up in our campground.
The roads were starting to flood from melting snow.
The crowd waiting at the gate to get in was a mile long.
Sophia crashed.
Had fun Yosemite. Until we meet again!

Our Site
As it warmed, the snow became slush. Leaving became easier...
SJ has asked the night before if we could stay five more days there because he loved it.
Sophia was a Soso-sicle. Snow got down into her boot...and she was frozen! Little hot coco helped thaw her toes.

Hike Out Mirror
At the end of the trail...a sign. The only one freaked out was the one it was about! Mountain lions picking off the smallest hikers that wander too far ahead or behind. We had this talk before leaving Auburn. I showed him news footage of mountain lion attacks. He got it.
But seeing it on signage...woah.

Leaving Mirror
Good time was had in the snow. After a quick snack break, we hiked out to the bus! Opting for the easy trail out!
Fight!
There was a fresh field of snow below the lake next to the river...it had our name on it.
This is a series of photos from the epic battle. Kids vs. Daddy. A blow by blow account. SK took out Soso. SJ attacked and defeated while his guard was down reloading.
Victory was theirs!
Great team work my children...
