Today

Here are some photos from today's wanderings around Muscatine, Iowa.
Steve wanted to fish up the river today the final practice day.
Instead of riding by water, we covered the distance by Jeep on land.
Sophia's view of the fountain at the riverside park
feet kicked back enjoying the smooth ride of her
Jeep stroller (thank you Gma & Gpa)
She enjoyed watching the water.
Had a lot to babble about.
The fountain

Statue in the park...
rather large one at that.
I had fun playing with angles on it
Here it is from a distance,
kids are playing on the base of it.
A block over into town there was a cute
main street with shops and
obvious apartments above the shops.
Here is a cat in one watching us stroll by.
Shot down the street
Loved all the architectural details around the windows
and all over the buildings.
We saw the button so stopped inside for a little
history lesson...and some cold bought air.
After the playground, toy shop, and the museum...
princess couldn't handle any more excitement.
With new Panda and lure in hands...she took
a power nap during the stroll back to the river.
After I took this picture, I reclined the seat of the stroller
back flat...She sighed as if that was so much better.
There are a few barges on the Mississippi River
(sarcasm there are hundreds)...
Here is a photo to give you a little idea of how BIG
these suckers really are. The little speck to the left,
count two railings over almost to the treeline-that's Steve.
He's in a 19 foot bass boat...and would be a bug on that barges' grill.
Here is Steve fishing after the barge passed by...
Louie is checking out all the action on the front deck.
As we head back to Fort Madison, Louie enjoys a nap.
River fishing where the bait fish in shallow water jump
onto the back deck can sure wear a small dog out.
